IDEA OF THE MONTH -

JANUARY/FEBRUARY

Valentine's Day
 February 14, 2011

What to make: A romantic dinner for two

What you need:

   • food

   • candles

   • drinks

   • tablecloth (optional)

   • table decorations (optional)

   • dessert (could be strawberries, cake, or anything you want)

TIP: Inexpensive candles and decorations can be found at your local dollar store.

How to make:

   • Step 1: Cook the food and prepare the dessert as needed.

   • Step 2: Chill the drink(s) if required

Step 3: Place the table cloth on the table (optional). Center the candles on the table (wait

until the food is ready before you light them). Place any additional decorations on the

table around the candles (CAUTION: don't let any decorations touch the candles or

                 they could catch fire)

   • Step 4: Dish food onto plates and begin a romantic night of candle-lit dinner, good food, and

                 a memorable night.

Total Cost: depends on food and decoration choices

Here are some other ideas on gifts you can do yourself:

Birthday -
  • Go to local sports stores and purchase items with their favorite team's logo and place in

a matching gift bag or pick-up tickets to a game.

.

New Baby -
  • Make a couple night's worth of dinners for the new parents, with instructions on how to

heat them. They will be so busy with the new baby, not having to worry about having to

make dinner will be greatly appreciated.

  • Offer to help with the housework. The lack of sleep and time makes this a hard chore

for parents and cuts into their resting time.

  • Make an 8x10 collage with pictures of the new baby and frame-it. You can use

scrapbook stickers to include the birth date and child's name.

Wedding/Anniversary -

  • Be a sitter for a night, whether it be animals or children. The couple can enjoy a night

              alone and relax.
